Gamma Ray

Intersession 2009

I'm going to take winter interrrrrrrrrrrrsessiiiiiiioooooooooooooooooooon.

HIST 108-- Early American History

I really didn't want to sacrifice my much-needed month-long winter break. I'm doing it because I need to make myself more competitive.

The California State University system claims that all their schools are impacted, so they will have stricter admission requirements. I just hope that my school will still have a transfer admission guarantee (TAG) agreement with CSU Northridge by this summer.

The major University of California schools have always been very choosy, so good luck with me going to UCLA. I'd probably settle with UC San Diego since my school also has a TAG with them. (I would also consider UC Irvine but they really don't have what I'm looking for. SO WHY DO I LIKE THIS SCHOOL?!) I've been to UCSD several times before and its a nice place with an interesting arts program. Still, as you know, one of my lifetime goals is to major in film at a university in or near Los Angeles.

If I cannot go to any CSU or UC I like, I'll settle with a private school or technical college. I would either transfer to the Academy of Art University, National University, Platt College San Diego, or the Art Institute of California San Diego. Its easy for me to transfer to any of them. In case you didn't notice, the last three I mentioned are located in San Diego. That's because my dad would let me go to a private school as long as he doesn't pay for housing. AAU is located in San Francisco and I have relatives there, so I'd be staying with them if I go there.

The Dilemma of Telling Others My College Goals

There are three common responses I get when I tell people I'm majoring in film:
  1. "Eww, are you trying to be a movie star?"
  2. "Um, no offense but majoring in film is kind of pointless. A degree in film is not going to lead you anywhere..."
  3. "Oh my god! I wanna be in a movie! Can you put me in your next movie, please?!"
Why am I majoring in film? I want to major in something I love. I like making films and studying them. There's more to film than just fame and simple entertainment.

No, I will not cast you in any of my films unless you're truly dedicated to the production. I hate dealing with egotistic, impatient, attention whores who can't act for shit.

Bye bye!
