My favorite films of 2008 were WALL-E and Milk. (Last year's favorites were Ratatouille and There Will Be Blood, in case you're wondering.) Both films were moving, very well-made, and enjoyable. My least favorite was Mamma Mia! Even though it had its enjoyable moments, it was still corny and badly acted. The Las Vegas stage show was much better.
All the films I saw in theaters in the year 2008:

Finally, here are the films of 2009 I'm strongly looking forward to seeing:
Films I'm obligated to see, whether I like it or not (I'm not kidding):
- Watchmen (yes, I'm very worried about the whole lawsuit thing)
- 9 (do not confuse it with Nine, the musical stage-show-turned-movie inspired by the film 8½.)
- The Princess and the Frog
- Coraline
- The Brothers Bloom
- The Pink Panther 2
- Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian
- Up
- Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
- Public Enemies (I've always had a thing for 1920s, '30s, and '40s criminals. Johnny Depp playing one is a bonus. Christian Bale hunting him is an extra bonus.)
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
- Sherlock Holmes
- New Moon
- The International (Clive Owen)
- Duplicity (Clive Owen again)
- Star Trek
- Bruno
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (MORE BUMBLEBEE, PLEASE!)
- Nine (do not confuse it with 9, the computer-animated film adapted from the short film of the same name. One of these films seriously needs to change its title.)
I'd watch these films if they get good reviews:
- The Unborn (mostly because Gary Oldman's in it)
- Push
- Dance Flick
- Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
- Dragonball
- The Soloist
- Angels & Demons
- G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
- Land of the Lost
- Inglourious Basterds
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
- Jennifer's Body
- Monsters vs. Aliens
- Avatar
- The Lovely Bones
- The Box
- Where the Wild Things Are
- Astro Boy
- The Fantastic Mr. Fox
- A Christmas Carol
- Surveillance
2009(?) films I want to see that don't have release dates yet:
- The Haunted World of El Superbeasto
- I Love You Phillip Morris
- The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Finally, here are the 2008 things I love that have nothing to do with film:
- The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack
- LittleBigPlanet
