Two Pieces of Candy

Max Payne

When I first heard the news that they were making a Max Payne movie, I wasn't impressed. To me, it was just another popular-video-game-turned-mediocre-movie. I never played the game but I knew that it wouldn't translate into a movie well (unless John Woo directed it, since the games were inspired by his films). Then I saw the commercials and the movie poster.

Tell me if this doesn't look cool.

If you know me, you'd know that I'm a huge sucker for male angels or winged men (not to mention hot men in semi-erotic poses...just don't remind me of the Marky Mark/Calvin Klein years). I saw the commercials and I was like "Oh my god!!! There's an angel!!! I don't remember any angels in the Max Payne games."

Still, I'd only see a video-game-based movie if the reviews are good. So far, I haven't heard a lot of good things about it. I guess I'll see it when it comes out on DVD.

My Life So Far

I've been busy lately. No, I'm not busy surfing the internet and shit. I've been doing a lot of things lately. Volunteering and producing/directing short films for my digital film class. It all eats into my homework time. I've been trying to catch up with my homework. So far, I was able to turn in a major English assignment.

Because of my busy schedule, I've been missing out on fun things, like meeting friends and watching movies at the San Diego Asian Film Festival. :( I'm sure this will continue. Also, I've been getting sick and tired of dealing with people and I've been wanting alone-time. I'm not anti-social, okay?

Watching Iron Man with My Cast & Crew Members

Here's a reenactment of something that happened last weekend. This took place in my classmate's apartment. Before we shot the last scenes of our short film, we had to wait for everyone else to come. To let the time pass, we all decided to watch Iron Man.

Me: I wish Robert Downey Jr. was in all my movies.
Cast Member: ...He is a person, a human being! Not an object to go crazy about!
Me: I'm not a fangirl! I like him as an actor. I'm a fan of his performances! Besides, I saw him at Comic Con!
Crew Member: Oh yeah? I made out with him!
Me: *laughs*

This conversation goes on with discussions about how a crew member/Downey Jr. romance scene would play out, Downey Jr. impersonations, and me laughing my head off.

Proposition 8

I'd like to end this entry by urging California voters to VOTE NO ON PROP 8. If you're not familiar with it, this proposition bans same-sex marriage in California. Do not believe what the "Yes on 8" ads are saying. They're saying bullshit, I swear. For one thing, they claim that kids will be forced to learn about same-sex marriage in elementary schools. True in Massachusetts, but not in California! Also, the "for the children" argument is one of the most commonly used arguments in politics, and its illogical.

Don't complain that I'm shoving a personal belief down your throat. I'm a gay rights activist, what do you expect?
